Wat Chalong Phuket
The Chedi
The chedi (stupa) of Chalong Temple is built on three floors, so feel free to climb to the top terrace to get a beautiful bird’s view of the entire temple grounds. A few more steps will lead you to a glass display where you can contemplate the fragment of bone.
Inside Chedi
Many sitting, standing and reclining Buddhas decorate the floor on the ground level. Murals line the entire room, and a jade Naga will guide you to the second floor.
Get to the 2nd Floor
Jade Naga will guide you to the second floor. Discover the history of Buddha on the painted walls.
the 2nd Floor of Chedi
The second floor is more of the same, but there is more variety in the golden statues, with monks and guardians joining the Buddhas.
Get onto 3rd Floor
Ascending further will take you to the terrace just below the tower. From the terrace, there is a view of the temple grounds and even the Big Buddha.
Enjoy the View
From here, you not only have a wonderful view of the temple, but can also admire Big Buddha.
sacred relic house
One of the reasons why Wat Chalong is so frequented is for the sacred relic housed here. Inside the tower is a bone fragment of Buddha in a glass case. There is a sign in English for a prayer you can make to the bone fragment, or simply contemplate the holy artefact.
